The short answer

Start with a task each person recognises, teach the checks alongside the tool and practise with suitable examples. Agree which information can be used and how the team will turn a useful result into a repeatable way of working.

Start with the people and the work

Ask colleagues what they already use and what feels unclear. One person may want help drafting a weekly update; another may need to understand how to check an answer before relying on it.

Choose a small number of relevant tasks rather than running through a long catalogue of features. Agree what participants should be able to do afterwards and which questions need further investigation.

Practise the complete task

Use an appropriate or fictional example from the work. Ask the participant to explain the goal, provide the necessary context and describe the output they need.

Compare the result with the original material. Identify missing information, invented details and any formatting that makes it difficult to use. Revise the instructions and try another example.

  1. Explain the job, audience and expected result.
  2. Supply appropriate reference information.
  3. Prepare an initial output.
  4. Check facts and completeness against the source.
  5. Record useful instructions and repeat with a new example.

Agree information-handling boundaries

Colleagues need to know what they may share and which systems they should use. Use your organisation’s information rules and check the particular product arrangements before introducing real company material.

Make it easy to ask a question. A colleague should not have to guess whether a document or customer detail is appropriate for a training exercise.

Give the team a way to keep learning

A useful session leaves people with task-specific notes, an output-checking routine and a named person for questions. Review what worked after colleagues have tried it in normal work.

Get AI Working offers individual guidance, team sessions and ongoing coaching. Training can be booked separately or alongside a workflow we implement; we shape the examples and pace around the people taking part.

Teach the task, the information boundaries and the checks together.

A few related questions

Does everyone need the same level of training?

No. Agree the tasks and starting point for each role. A shared introduction can be followed by more focused practice.

Can training cover a tool you implement for us?

Yes. Guidance can use the actual tool, its review points and its exception process as the basis for learning.
